The major items of work include the replacement of leaking CIP waterlines with new C900 PVC water mains; upgrading water meters, meter reading, and water billing to an AMR-based system. The base bid includes approximately 1,971 linear feet of 4-inch, 20,138 linear feet of 6-inch, and 3,077 linear feet of 8-inch C900 PVC waterlines to be constructed with HDD methods in combination with open trenching; one directional drilled cased creek bore; two dry bore and jack railroad crossings; 81 gate valves; 35 fire hydrants; four flush hydrants; 275 service connections; and 8,940 linear feet of 1-inch and 2-inch HDPE service lines; 301 new AMR water meters, 187 meter register replacements; new AMR meter read system; and all appurtenant items and work to complete the project. Bid includes Base Bid plus Bid Alternates (adders). Alternates may or may not be selected for Award, solely at Owner's discretion. Base Bid includes (approximate quantities): Replacement or upgrade with AMR registers of approximately 500 various size water meters, repair/replacement of meter pits including setters and associated work; new AMR radio read system ; 11,400 LF of 2" (HDPE SDR 11), 4, 6, 8" (DR-18 C-900 PVC) watermain (to be constructed with HDD methods in combination with open trenching); two bore & jack (12" & 16" steel cased) railroad crossings; 38 gate valves (all sizes), 20 flush and fire hydrants; 3,800 LF 1" 1-1/2", 2" HDPE service line with tracer wire and test stations; mobilization, connections, surfacing removal/replacement/restoration, abandonments and all other appurtenant work for a complete and operating as intended system . Owner selected Bid Alternates could add an additional 226 LF of HDD cased bore and add significantly to total quantities. Selection of Bid Alternates for Award to be made at Owner's sole discretion.
