The District requires professional archaeological consulting services for two municipal capital projects: the Junction Park Building Project and the Squamish Adventure Centre Revitalization Project – Phase 2. Both projects are expected to involve ground disturbance within the traditional territory of the Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), and preliminary review has determined that Archaeological Impact Assessments (AIAs) under the Heritage Conservation Act are required. Archaeological services are needed to meet provincial regulatory requirements and support responsible project delivery. A District-wide GIS-based Archaeological Overview Assessment (AOA) is underway and nearing completion; relevant information will be provided to the successful proponent. The project must adhere to First Nations policies, provincial legislation, and BC Archaeology Branch and Heritage Conservation Act guidelines. Reporting will be to District Facilities staff. Bid submissions must be made online and in English unless specified otherwise.
