Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Springfield, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; and water / sewer project.

The work includes, but is not limited to, pavement micro-milling; full-depth roadway reconstruction; placement of superpave surface and intermediate courses; installation of granite curbing; resetting of existing granite curbing; construction of cement concrete sidewalks, commercial driveways, and pedestrian curb ramps; installation and adjustment of drainage infrastructure; installation and adjustment of water and sewer infrastructure; traffic signal improvements, including installation of traffic signal posts, bases, conduit, and pull boxes; landscaping; thermoplastic pavement markings; and the provision of safety controls and construction signage. All work will take place at various locations along the southern Maple Street corridor within the City of Springfield and includes all incidental items specified in the Contract Documents. Bidders must be prequalified through the massachusetts department of transportation. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will provide the City of Springfield with an official contractor bid list for all contractors prequalified in the specific class of work category Highway - Construction, with a single contract limit at or above the estimated value of the project. All questions regarding the bid or its specifications must be received by the Office of Procurement no later than July 14th, 2026 by 4:00 P.M. Questions must be submitted to the attention of Lauren Stabilo, Chief Procurement Officer ( Istabilo@springfieldcityhall.com ). The following work is proposed at various locations along the southern Maple Street Corridor within the City of Springfield and shall include, but is not limited to, the following: Approximately 6,450 square yards of pavement micro-milling; placement of 900 tons of Superpave surface course; and placement of 5 tons of Superpave intermediate course, utilizing Mass Works Grants Funding. Installation of granite curbing for curb extensions; resetting of existing granite curbing; construction of cement concrete sidewalks, commercial driveways, and pedestrian curb ramps; installation and adjustment of drainage infrastructure; landscaping; thermoplastic pavement markings; and the provision of safety controls and construction signage, including all incidental items specified in the Contract Documents, utilizing Mass Works Grants Funding. Traffic signal improvements, including the installation of traffic signal posts, bases, conduit, and pull boxes associated with the project's proposed pedestrian improvements, utilizing Mass Works Grants Funding. Installation and adjustment of water and sewer infrastructure, utilizing funding from the Springfield Water and Sewer Commission. The City of Springfield supports the goal of twentey (20) percent minority and women particiapation in all contracts.
