The project primarily consists of resurfacing existing hot-mix asphalt (HMA) roadways. Work includes, but is not limited to, one and one-half inch (1.5") HMA pavement removal, pavement patching as needed, placement of two inch (2") HMA surface course, pavement markings installation, aggregate shoulder removal and installation, traffic control and protection, and all incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the project as described herein and in strict compliance with the bid documents. Included as ALTERNATE BID #1, is the resurfacing of approximately 1,500 lineal feet of pavement along Purnell Road under the jurisdiction of the City of West Chicago. This work includes, but is not limited to, three and one-half inch (3.5") HMA pavement removal, pavement patching as needed, placement of HMA binder course (2"), and resurfacing with two inches (2") HMA surface course, and all incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the project as described herein and in strict compliance with the bid documents. Bidding requirements include Purnell Road between Trillium Drive and Winfield Road and all roadways within the Woods of Cantigny Subdivision between Roosevelt Road and Purnell Road.
