The City of Danville, Kentucky (City) will receive proposals from qualified firms to provide a solids removal and dewatering program for the Danville Water Treatment Plant, located in Danville, Kentucky. The City desires proposals for a turnkey operation to remove, dewater and transport solids from a lagoon at the water treatment plant. The City's water treatment plant consists of a large lagoon/pond. The structure captures solids removed from the treatment of raw water. Solids have accumulated to an extent that is reducing storage capacity for future material. Since solids are wasted on a daily basis, this lagoon must remain in service. Therefore, dredging will be the required method of solids removal. The Proposer shall provide the necessary equipment and manpower to remove solids from the lagoon, while it remains in service, and dewater them. The resulting dewatered solids shall be immediately loaded onto trucks and transported to an approved landfill or other off-site location for disposal or beneficial reuse. The Proposer shall be responsible selecting the method of managing the solids and preparing and submitting any necessary information to the landfill or regulatory agency to obtain the required approvals.
