Removal and disposal of existing timber deck boards; supply and installation of new pressure-treated 2 x 6 decking; installation of continuous wheel guards (toe boards) for accessibility; replacement of structural support beams as a contingency item. Installation of continuous wheel guards (toe boards) on both sides of the boardwalk to improve accessibility and prevent mobility devices from leaving the deck surface. Decking shall be installed with minimal spacing between boards while maintaining adequate drainage and allowing for normal expansion and contraction of treated lumber. Replacement of structural support beams only where deterioration is identified after removal of the existing decking and only upon authorization by City staff. The existing boardwalk is approximately 490 feet in length and varies from 8 feet to 13 feet in width.
