Site work and new construction of a museum in Claresholm, Alberta. Completed plans call for the construction of a 3,200-square-foot, one-story above grade museum; and for site work for a museum.

The intent of this Request for Proposals ("RFP") is to solicit Proposals from qualified building and construction firms/contractors for the design and construction of the Town of Claresholm Museum Exhibit and Storage in two separate phases (the "Project"): Phase 1: Pre-construction services for the project. This includes development of a conceptual plan (drawings and perspectives) and the preparation of an opinion of probable costs. This phase will define the requirements of the project (function/programming, etc.), budget and schedule. This deliverable to be completed August 28, 2026. Phase 2: Upon funding being successfully obtained by the Town the construction drawings and construction phase will begin. This deliverable to begin spring 2028 with a completion date of October 27, 2028. The scope of the Services for the Museum (5115 2nd St East) include: 40' x 80' metal clad insulated structure resembling hip-roof barn. In floor heat and HRV in main storage area. 14' overhead door into display space. Roughed in staff/ workshop area. Includes plumbing rough in for staff washroom and workshop. 10' overhead door into future workshop area. Mezzanine over future workspace, accessible from display area. Roughed in storage areas for future climate-controlled artifact storage. Firewall between finished display area and future workshop/staff and climate-controlled artifact storage area to allow occupancy after completion of display area. Considerations Total building footprint under 300 m2 Mezzanine under 40% total area with open design Pole structure preferred but not mandatory Barrier free entrance No public washroom, new building is in proximity to existing facilities. Water and sewer service install will be completed by Town crew.
