Demolition and renovation of a municipal facility in North Charleston, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility.
Sealed bids are invited for the asbestos abatement, demolition, and disposal of four regulated structures from sites within North Charleston. Each bid must include a bid bond executed by the bidder as principal and a surety company qualified to operate in South Carolina, amounting to not less than five percent of the total offer, ensuring execution of the required agreement and furnishing of a 100% performance and payment bond and insurance certificates if the bid is accepted. Checks will not be accepted instead of a bid bond. Bidders are responsible for ensuring bids are received on time. Bid packages may be obtained from the procurement department or downloaded online. The Contractor is hereby directed to conduct the asbestos work where applicable inm accordance with the requirements of the Federal Register 40 CFR Part 61 Environmental Protection Agency National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants; Asbestos NESHAP Revision; Final Rule, the South Carolina Department of Health, and Environmental Control Regulation 61-86.1 ; Standards of Performance for Asbestos Abatement Operations, and any other applicable Local, State, and Federal Requirements. The Contractor shall prepare to dispose of all visible and obvious asbestos materials in the prescribed manner allowed by State law. One-Story Structure (Approx. 10,000 Total SF) o No Asbestos Found a) Asbestos Identified: Based on the results of laboratory analysis, none of the materials were identified as asbestos containing materials (ACMs) defined as containing >1 % asbestos. b) Taken from Asbestos Report: The exterior is constructed with a metal roof. The interior finishes consist of drywall, wooden studs, plaster slats, wood sheeting, sheet flooring, carpet, slate and ceramic tile, suspended or enclosed with drywall, and ceiling tiles and drywall.
