The work consists of reconstructing and repairing segments of an existing gravel road and an existing asphalt-paved road near the Union Village Dam, including rehabilitation of a riprap-lined roadside drainage ditch along Buzzell Bridge Road. The project includes an option to remove and dispose of remaining asphalt pavement and perform full-depth hot mix asphalt replacement. Base work involves removal and offsite disposal of an existing large-diameter pipe culvert with a plastic flared end section and a concrete drop inlet structure. Installation work includes a new precast reinforced concrete box culvert with associated headwalls and wingwalls, and an energy dissipator at the outlet consisting of a riprap-lined stilling basin and apron. Additional activities include clearing and grubbing, removal and disposal of damaged asphalt and unsuitable subgrade soils, salvage and reuse of existing riprap, and cleaning and adjustment of existing drop inlet structures and associated culvert pipes. The project also requires earthwork operations such as excavation, backfilling, compaction, grading, placement of topsoil and seeding, and implementation of erosion and sedimentation control measures.
