Work is generally to include: Demolition, removal and disposal of a portion of the existing pavement, septic tanks and utility structures. The excavation, crushing, and placing of approximately 5,280 bank cubic yards of on-site material for the regrading of the site. The transport from an onsite stockpile, placing, compaction, and testing of approximately 4,248 bank cubic yards of suitable material as structural fill for stability under the 15 house sites. Locate a disposal site, transport and disposal of approximately 1,007 bank cubic yards of excess fill material to a permanent offsite storage location. The construction of 85 LF of a gravity retaining wall that is between 4.5 to 8.8 foot tall (as measured from the base of the concrete below ground). No bidder may withdraw his bid within 90 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Bid award will be made to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder. All bidders shall submit with their bid an acceptable bid bond or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid, payable to the Owner. The Bidder awarded the contract shall complete this project within 120 calendar days. Liquidated damages will be assessed at $750 per calendar day.
