The work involves the supply and operation of a snowplow and sander to plow snow and sand/salt all roads, streets, and specified municipal parking lots within the Village of Burk's Falls jurisdiction to maintain the Province of Ontario's Regulation 239/02 on Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways. The scope further includes removal of snow from Ontario Street and certain intersections as requested, as well as municipal parking lots. Services are required for the 2026/2027 winter season (November 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027), with a possible contract extension for up to three years by mutual agreement. Operations must begin according to Regulation 239/02 for Class 4 and 5 roads, with Ontario Street classified as Class 4 and all other roads as Class 5; roadways under the Ministry of Transportation are excluded. The Village will provide sand and salt mix; the contractor must secure a loader and operator to load materials, which must be used only for this contract. Contractors must meet minimum response standards, complete winter road control by 6:30 am following overnight events, and respond to additional requests as necessary. Upon request, a loader and dump truck with qualified operator must be available for snow removal from snowbanks on streets and in parking lots. Services also include plowing and sanding/salting the Armour, Burk's Falls Ryerson Memorial Arena parking lot and laneway, and the Municipal Parking Lot.
