Site work, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Medford, Massachusetts. Working plans call for the addition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
The Project consists of the phased renovation and addition of the existing Medford High School campus to provide a modern, code-compliant, all-electric educational facility designed to support a projected enrollment of approximately 1,395 students plus district-wide Pre-K programming. The Project will comply with the Massachusetts Specialized Stretch Energy Code and is pursuing a LEEDv4 Platinum Certification. With LEEDv5 being adopted for this project the goal is to meet the same sustainability goals that were previously outlined in the LEEDv4 Platinum requirements. The project is seeking to incorporate sustainable and low embodied carbon design strategies including geothermal HVAC systems, photovoltaic arrays, battery energy storage systems, low-carbon concrete, and high recycled-content materials.
