The Contract consists of these units: 4 -inch Concrete Sidewalk 400 square feet 30-inch Concrete Curb & Gutter-1,900 lineal feet Quotes are being requested to perform repair and construction of concrete sidewalk and curb & gutter on Beloit Street/STH 213 in the Village of Orfordville. The work is described below, and shall be completed according to the attached drawing, details, and specifications. Scope of Work/Special Conditions: o The Village or Town & Country Engineering will mark areas for concrete sidewalk and curb & gutter replacement. Asphalt and concrete driveways may be affected by sidewalk construction and also require replacement under this scope. o Prices provided are for 2026. Prior to beginning work, framed inlet filter bags must be installed at all storm inlets that may receive runoff from the project. The inlet filter bags shall remain until the entire site is stabilized, and then be removed by the Contractor. Erosion control is incidental to the project. The Contractor will excavate/fill as necessary to subbase for new concrete and asphalt. Importation and placement of 3/4 " crushed aggregate base course or fill material, if necessary, must be included in the project quote. The Village will lay out the horizontal alignment in the field for the new concrete sidewalk in locations where there are no existing sidewalks. The Contractor will be responsible for setting his own elevation grades. The new concrete and asphalt will be constructed according to the attached construction details. The Contractor will be responsible for all safety and traffic control during the project, incidental to the project. All work must be completed by September 30, 2026. WisDOT will be starting the reconstruction of STH 213 as early as September 15, 2026. Contractor shall coordinate with WisDOT and work around their crews. o Quoted prices must include all material, equipment, and labor to perform the work described or shown on the plans and details. oRestoration in grass areas includes stripping existing sod, fill, if necessary, salvage of topsoil , placement of topsoil, new topsoil provisions, where necessary, and grading of all areas which were disturbed and is incidental to project. Restoration on the street side of curb and gutter is incidental to the curb and gutter items. The Contractor will be allowed to use the existing asphalt as a form if a clean edge can be preserved. If not, the space between the new curb and existing asphalt must be patched with hot-mix asphalt at a minimum width of 6-inches and minimum thickness of 4 inches. Approval from WisDOT is required to use any other mix. The contractor warrants their work for 1 year from the date of construction. Remove and Replace 4" Thick Concrete Sidewalk Covers the removal of existing concrete and subbase, and construction of new concrete sidewalk and aprons. No special payment shall be made for sidewalk ramps. Rather the ramps shall be measured as concrete sidewalk. Any related topsoil restoration shall be incidental to this unit price. The provision and placement of six inches of crushed aggregate base under the new sidewalk shall be incidental to this unit price. Sawcutting shall be incidental to this unit price. The unit of measurement is per square foot. 2. Remove & Replace 6 " Thick Concrete Sidewalk and Driveway Approaches Covers the removal of existing concrete and subbase, and construction of new concrete sidewalk and approaches. Any related topsoil restoration shall be incidental to this unit price. The provision and placement of six inches of crushed aggregate base under the new concrete shall be incidental to this unit price. Sawcutting shall be incidental to this unit price. The unit of measurement is per square foot. 3. Remove & Replace 30" Concrete Curb & Gutter Covers the removal of existing concrete and subgrade, and construction of new concrete curb & gutter. No special payment shall be made for drive-over curb. Any related topsoil restoration and asphalt patch shall be incidental to this unit price.
