Redevelopment of the Laurel Park horse racing complex into a year-round thoroughbred training facility. The project includes acquisition of the existing racetrack property, renovation and repurposing of training, stable, and support facilities, and associated site improvements. The state expects Laurel Park to be transformed into a modern training facility capable of accommodating approximately 1,100 to 1,200 horses. As of August 5, 2026, the State of Maryland has approved the purchase of Laurel Park racetrack, enabling the development of a new thoroughbred training facility at the site. The project is in the Planning phase. Information regarding an architect or a general contractor has not been disclosed.
