Funding is requested for the design FY30 and construction FY31 of comprehensive interior and exterior upgrades to the Academy of Music Theatre, a historic and actively used performing arts venue in downtown Northampton. The project will include mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) system replacements and upgrades to modernize the heating, cooling, and ventilation systems and bring them into compliance with current codes and energy standards. Additional work will include exterior facade improvements, weatherproofing, interior upgrades and other building preservation measures to maintain the structure's integrity and protect this vital community facility. The design phase will produce detailed construction documents and cost estimates to guide efficient implementation. The project is included in the City 2027-2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
