Site work for a water / sewer project in Spring Hill, Kansas. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
As new areas of development are identified, an engineering study is done to determine the feasibility of locating sewer service to the area. Rough cost estimates are completed and the revenue streams from the new development are determined. If the project goes forward and completes the required approvals, the extension of the sewer to the project would be funded through cash from the Wastewater fund, bonds paid by the utility revenues, a special benefit district, or a combination of these financing tools. Sewer projects are never funded by taxpayers or mill levy. The project is included in the City 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of July 6,2026, further details have not yet been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
