The intent of this bid call is to obtain an offer to perform work to provide concrete retaining wall repair measures at the north side of Bruyère Health's 85 Primrose St. property. (Adjacent and accessed via privately owned residences at 43 and 45/47/49 Lorne Ave.), as described within the contract documents. The Work involves concrete structural repairs to an existing retaining wall in an early state of failure. The wall, located on the north side of Bruyère Health's property line at 85 Primrose Ave abuts a private triplex residence at the bottom of an embankment at 49 Lorne Ave, Ottawa. The subject wall has begun to fail in a section that has been impacted by prolonged exposure to water infiltration. Work will be partially carried out and staged at the rear of the triplex properties of 43/45 and 49 Lorne Ave. To carry out the work, and for access to the wall, an existing wood shed will need to be removed by the Contractor (and not replaced). Work for the repair of the concrete retaining wall will be carried out in accordance with the structural and architectural descriptions forming the Contract Documents. The Contractor shall be responsible for developing an execution plan for carrying out the Scope of Work which shall include a plan for the rock and soils removal to be disposed of off-site. Bruyère Health will coordinate site access for the duration of construction with the homeowners of the triplex at 45/47/49 Lorne Ave, and adjacent house at 43 Lorne Ave sharing a common driveway as indicated in the contract documents. The timing of work is expected to commence as soon as all materials are sourced and ready for installation, and labour schedules allow for the project to take place over as few consecutive days' as possible. Inquiries from Bidders must be received in writing not later than ten (10) calendar days before the date set for receipt of Bids.
