The City hired Kimley-Horne to evaluate the existing fire alarm systems and to prepare performance specifications and preliminary design criteria to entirely replace them with a non-proprietary system. Recently, the City replaced the fire alarm system at the Police Station with a Potter brand non- proprietary system. The City prefers installation of Potter systems at the three fire stations as a result of its proven reliability, ease of use, and to reduce staff training necessary to maintain and operate all four systems. Attachment 1 of this RFP contains performance specifications and preliminary designs, which collectively comprise the scope of work for this Project. The City intends to enter into an agreement with a qualified Contractor to perform the scope of work contained in Attachment 1 coupled with a 5-year agreement to test and maintain the new systems upon expiration of their one-year warranty.
