Renovation of a fire / police facility in Santa Clara, California. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
Reference Number 0000436635 The City operates multiple fire stations that serve as public safety facilities supporting emergency response operations. Fire Stations 1, 3, 4, and 8 currently have varying levels of perimeter security, and improvements are needed to enhance the protection of facilities, apparatus, equipment, and personnel. Construction of the station security upgrades will be implemented in the following priority order: Fire Station 8, followed by Fire Stations 3, 4, and 1. Through this Request for Proposals, the City seeks qualified consultant services to assess existing site conditions and develop design documents for the proposed security improvements, including preparation of plans, specifications, and engineer's cost estimates suitable for bidding and construction. This project is funded through Measure I, a voter-approved general obligation bond measure approved by Santa Clara voters in November 2024. Measure I provides funding for the repair, replacement, and modernization of critical City infrastructure and public safety facilities, including fire stations. The project is subject to all applicable Measure I requirements, including use-of-funds restrictions and oversight provisions.
