Site work and paving for a civil project in Northbrook, Illinois. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The traffic signals at the intersection of Pfingsten and Koepke Roads are approaching the end of their useful life and are in need of replacement. Simultaneously, the Village's Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan recommends that the intersection be upgraded to high visibility crosswalks, with new median refuge islands on Pfingsten Road and new curbs with minimized radii. Staff anticipates engineering design for this project will occur in FY 2027 and construction for this project to take place in FY 2028. The project is included in the city 2027 - 2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of July 10,2026, further details have not yet been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
