Project Summary: The project includes the demolition and replacement of approximately 43,250 square feet of roof. Along with new modified bitumen roof, the work includes new gutters, downspouts, flashings, caps, and metal roof on portion and metal wall panels on the parapets. The work included raising curbs for equipment and intakes shown to remain. Demolition and removal of some roof top equipment as indicated. Minor mechanical and electrical work to disconnect and reconnect equipment to remain. All trades are included under the General Contract for Construction. One Hundred Fifty (150) calendar days are allowed for the construction of the project. All bids must be on blank forms provided in the Specifications and submitted in its entirety. A cashier's check drawn on an Alabama bank or a Bidder's Bond, payable to Mobile County, Alabama, for an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid, but in no event, more than ten thousand ($10,000) dollars, shall be filed with the proposal, the Bidder's Bond being prepared on the form specified and signed by a bonding company authorized to do business in the State of Alabama. A Performance Bond in the form and terms approved by the County in an amount not less than the contract price will be required at the signing of the contract. A labor and materials bond in form and terms approved by the County in an amount not less than the contract price, insuring payment for all labor and materials, shall also be required at the signing of the contract. In addition, the Contractor must furnish to the County at the time of the signing of the contract a certificate of insurance coverage as provided in the specifications. The right is reserved to reject any and/or all bids, waive informalities, and furnish any item of material or work to change the amount of said Contract. Liquidated damages for non-completion of the work within the time limit agreed upon will be assessed in accordance with the terms of the Contract.
