Description

Renovation of a mixed-use development in Rutland, Vermont. Completed plans call for the renovation of a two-story above grade educational facility.

The Rutland Middle School (RMS) is located on Library Street in a residential neighborhood in Rutland. It has a two-level kitchen that serves both the middle school and intermediate school. Adjacent to the cafeteria is a public lobby that has a handicapped ramp and 2 bathrooms. This project includes the following scope: o Summer 2027 work o New kitchen on the main level o Renovations to the cafeteria o New material lift to replace 2 existing dumbwaiters. o Summer 2028 work o Renovations to the lobby including new ramp and bathrooms o Renovations to the lower level kitchen The construction budget is estimated at $3.3m. The selected CM will assist the Owner during preconstruction with aligning the scope of the project with the budget and determining an optimum construction schedule that minimizes cost and disruption to school operations. The goal is for the work to happen largely during the summer 2027 and 2028 breaks with some enabling work or follow-up work occurring at other times.
