The Parks Department is currently housing all of their equipment in the Department of Public Works (DPW) garage. The space is very tight and not efficient. Some equipment that is stored outside should be inside, but the DPW garage is full. The DPW is requesting that Facilities build a storage building on the main shop campus. It makes more sense to build the Parks Department their needed facilities, freeing up space needed by the DPW team to avoid the need for another building for them on their main campus. This aligns with the Strategic Plan goal of Organizational Excellence because it helps to support the internal functions of the County's Public Works and Parks Departments. We will be providing the necessary space needed for parks maintenance operations while freeing up space at the Public Works main garage. The project is included in the city 2027 - 2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
