MnDOT awarded Lunda Construction a contract (value undisclosed, estimated at $80,000,000 based on bridge scale and complexity) for the replacement of the Robert Street Railroad Bridge in St. Paul, Minnesota. The project includes replacing the existing 189-foot-long, 113-year-old bridge with a new 215-foot rolling bascule truss span bridge across the Mississippi River. Scope includes replacement of six steel approach bridges, rehabilitation of concrete piers, removal of timber protection walls, installation of a steel pile protection wall, crash bumper installation, and construction of a support platform for an operations building, with work starting in July 2026 and completing in December 2029.
