Asphalt Paving and Trail Resurfacing :- Furnish all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, tools, and incidentals necessary to perform asphalt paving, asphalt resurfacing, and chip seal applications for various parking lots, trails, and other paved surfaces throughout park facilities. CC: Karen Orndorff, Purchasing Manager Karen.orndorff@fcva.us The Contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and incidentals necessary to complete the asphalt paving, resurfacing, and chip seal work described herein in accordance with the specifications and requirements of this Solicitation. A. No vehicular or pedestrian traffic shall be permitted on newly placed asphalt or chip seal surfaces until rolling operations have been completed and the surface is suitable for use, as determined by the Contractor and approved by the County. B. The Contractor shall maintain the project site in a clean and orderly condition throughout the duration of the work and shall remove all debris, excess materials, equipment, and waste upon completion of the project. C. The Contractor shall be responsible for any damage to County property or the property of others caused by the Contractor or its employees, subcontractors, agents, or representatives during the performance of the work. The Contractor shall promptly repair or replace damaged property at no additional cost to the County. D. The Contractor shall complete all work within the time specified in the Notice to Proceed or applicable Task Order, unless an extension is approved in writing by the County. E. The Contractor shall provide a competent on-site supervisor with authority to act on behalf of the Contractor whenever work is being performed. F. The Contractor shall be responsible for the security, storage, and protection of all materials, equipment, and supplies delivered to the project site until final acceptance by the County. G. Asphalt paving, resurfacing, and chip seal operations shall only be performed when weather conditions and pavement temperatures comply with the latest Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Road and Bridge Specifications and manufacturer recommendations for the materials being installed . H. When performing chip seal operations, the Contractor shall use a self-propelled steel drum roller with an operating weight not to exceed eight (8) tons, unless otherwise approved by the County. I. Payment shall be made in accordance with the Contract following satisfactory completion and acceptance of the work by the County and receipt of a proper invoice. Sherando Park Ballfield Parking Lot - Asphalt Paving The Contractor shall perform the following work: Remove vegetation along pavement edges. oMill approximately 145 linear feet (LF) of tie-in joints. oSweep approximately 5,600 square yards of existing pavement. o Apply a tack coat of CRS-2 asphalt emulsion to all milled joints. o Install a leveling (scratch) course of SM-9.5AL bituminous concrete in low areas, as required. Install a 2-inch compacted thickness of SM-9.5AL bituminous concrete over approximately 5,600 square yards. Sherando Park Ballfield Access Walkway - Asphalt Paving The Contractor shall perform the following work: o Remove loose stone and debris. o Mill approximately 45 linear feet (LF) of tie-in joints. .Sweep approximately 870 square yards. oApply a tack coat of CRS-2 asphalt emulsion over approximately 870 square yards. oInstall a 1.5-inch compacted thickness of SM -9.5AL bituminous concrete over approximately 870 square yards. Bowman Library Trail - Single Seal / Double Seal (Chip Seal) The Contractor shall perform the following work: 5.Remove vegetation along pavement edges. Sweep approximately 1,875 square yards of trail surface. Apply a single chip seal consisting of CRS-2 asphalt emulsion with Virginia No. 8 aggregate rolled in place over approximately 1,600 square yards. Apply a double chip seal consisting of CRS-2 asphalt emulsion with Virginia No. 8 aggregate rolled in place over approximately 275 square yards.
