Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a civil project in Bellingham, Washington. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; road / highway; and water / sewer project.

The work to be performed by the CONSULTANT consists of preparing preliminary engineering design for the Electric Avenue- Whatcom Creek Replacement project. The proposed improvements include replacing the existing four span reinforced concrete structure with an approximately 105 foot long single span prestressed concrete girder structure. This includes widening the existing bridge deck to accommodate two travel lanes, five-foot bike lanes in both directions, and six-foot pedestrian walkways on both sides with ADA compliant approaches. Utilities on the existing bridge will need to be maintained in service during and after construction. This project has a 0% FSBE goal with a 10% SBE voluntary goal.
