The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) proposes to replace a steel pipe culvert on S.R. 1022 (Liberty Park Road) over a UNT to Dubois Creek in Liberty Township, Susquehanna County. The proposed structure will replace the existing metal pipe culvert on a similar alignment with a precast reinforced concrete box culvert that will accommodate two lanes of traffic. The proposed 12'-0" span by 7'-6" rise precast reinforced concrete box culvert will provide a larger hydraulic opening relative to the existing structure. Minor grading will be required along S.R. 1022 at the approaches to the structure as a result of the roadway reconstruction, drainage improvements, and guiderail installation. Due to the contextual restraints of the project site, S.R. 1022 will be closed to traffic throughout the duration of construction. An 11.3 mile detour route will be implemented for S.R. 1022.
