The magnitude of this project is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The construction project will remove and replace the existing: sidewalk on the east side of the building (approximately 290 square feet), stair lower landing (approximately 40 square feet) and stair tread & riser (approximately 40 square feet) to be removed and replaced with new heated concrete stairs, landing and sidewalk. New concrete sidewalk and stairs to include electric heating with snow sensor, and new stair lighting at the National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office (WFO) Juneau located at 8500 Mendenhall Loop Road, Juneau, AK 99801 . Demo and dispose of existing sidewalk, lower stair landing, stair tread & riser, railings, and replace. Install new lighting at stairs. Railings must be painted to match existing railing. This scope includes any required subgrade work needed to support the new sidewalk, stairs, as well as backfill, topsoil, and seeding at disturbed areas adjacent to the work. Each bidder may thoroughly examine the work area and be familiar with the SOW, drawing specifications and provided documents. The failure or neglect of a bidder to examine the site, or understand the requirements of this SOW, its attached photos, drawing specifications or any part thereof must in no way relieve it from any obligations with respect to its bid or to the resulting contract. No claim for additional compensation will be allowed which is based upon a lack of knowledge of any contract document. The retaining wall is integral to the sidewalk and stairs, the integrity of the retaining wall must be preserved during the process. Refer to images 4 and 5.
