The project involves construction of the 18.9-mile-long King Cove Road, a single-lane unpaved gravel roadway connecting King Cove to the existing road network and the all-weather airport in Cold Bay, Alaska. The road is planned with a 13-foot-wide surface, 24-foot-wide subgrade, approximately 113 vehicle turnout areas, about 85 drainage culverts, and one bridge. The permit was issued by the US Army Corps of Engineers, and the work includes limited wetland and stream-channel impacts with associated mitigation requirements.
