The City of Shreveport is initiating plans to redevelop the former Mooretown Elementary School in partnership with the Caddo Parish School Board. The project will convert the school’s cafeteria and auditorium into a permanent senior centre and community meeting facility designed to support senior services, community programs, and local events. As of August 5, 2026, this project is in early planning with the City of Shreveport. Information regarding the selection of either an architect or an engineer has not been disclosed.
