Well system plumbing, filtration upgrades, water heater replacement, and water fountain replacement including replacing pressure tanks and installing whole-house filtration systems at an Ohio State Highway Patrol facility. More Info: Mike Morehouse, MDMorehouse@dps.ohio.gov Any questions regarding project scope or bid process please contact: Donna Wood Planner, Ohio Department Public Safety 1970 West Broad Street, Suite 428 Columbus, Oh 43223 DLWood@dps.ohio.gov Well System Plumbing, Filtration Upgrades, Water Heater Replacement, and Water Fountain Replacement The Marion Ohio State Highway Patrol Post 51 operates on a well water source with all plumbing located in the basement and utilizing copper supply lines. The following work is required: 1 ) Shut-Off Valve Replacement (a) Replace all existing shut-off valves on the well system plumbing in the basement. (b) Verify valve locations and ensure compatibility with the existing copper piping. 2) Sediment Pre-Filter Replacement (a) Remove the existing sediment pre-filter. (b) Install a new sediment pre-filter sized appropriately for system flow requirements (vendor to verify onsite). 3) Pressure Tank Replacement (a) Remove and dispose of the existing pressure tank. (b) Install a new pressure tank properly sized for the well pump and building demand. 4) Holding Tank Replacement (a) Remove the existing 30-50 gallon holding tank. (b) Install a new holding tank; vendor to verify required capacity during onsite assessment. 5) Whole-House Filtration System Installation (a) Install two (2) whole-house filtration units: (i) Manganese filtration system; and (ii) Hydrogen sulfide filtration system (b) Ensure proper bypass valves, drainage connections, and integration into the existing copper plumbing. 6) Brine Tank Installation (a) Install one (1 ) new 50- lb brine tank for water conditioning operations. (b) Verify brine line and operational settings after installation. 7) Inline Post-Filter Installation (a) Install one (1 ) (2-stage whole house) inline post-filter downstream of the treatment systems for final water polishing for the post to use. 8) 50-Gallon Hot Water Heater Replacement (a) Remove and dispose of the existing 50-gallon hot water heater. (b) Install a new 50-gallon hot water heater (vendor to verify exact model and capacity requirements onsite). (c) Connect to existing hot and cold supply lines, temperature/pressure relief discharge, and electrical or gas service as applicable. (d) Test operation for proper heating, pressure control , and leak-free performance. 9) Water Fountain Removal and Replacement (a) Remove and dispose of the existing wall-mounted drinking fountain. (b) Install a new wall-mounted drinking fountain with an integrated bottle-filling station. (c) Connect to existing supply and drain lines; verify proper mounting height, anchoring, and plumbing alignment. (d) Test flow, bottle filler operation, and cooling function (if equipped). 10) System Testing & Commissioning (a) Inspect all installed components for leaks, pressure stability, proper flow rates, and full system functionality. (b) Confirm all filtration units, tanks, heaters, shutoffs , and fixtures are operating as intended. 11 ) Miscellaneous (a) Supply the facility with One (1) years' worth of water filters (b) Project hours are normal business operations: 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (c) Background checks will be performed for employees working onsite (d) Post is a 24/7 operation. If necessary, plan according with the facility on when shutting down the water and how long during tear out phase and connecting phase
