The City of Surrey (the City) plans to demolish the two existing buildings located in Surrey, British Columbia at subdivision plan legal address LOT A BLOCK 5N SECTION 27 RANGE 2W PLAN NWP72648 NWD (the Project Site). The site overall area is approximately 5 Acers. The site consists of two existing buildings with paved parking lot and landscape. The lot is surrounded by four roads: King George Boulevard, 104 Avenue, City Parkway and Central Avenue. Building A: 10355 King George Boulevard, Surrey British Columbia (former Safeway Store) Single-story grocery store with two mezzanines levels with concrete paved loading bay area on the south side of the building and concrete sidewalk along the north side. Concrete pads for BC Hydro transformer is located on the east side of the building and for the waste dumpsters on the west side of the building. The building is steel-framed structure with metal decking, open web joists, beams and columns. Exterior walls generally consist of brick masonry with exterior insulating finishing systems (EFIS). Based on Building Permit drawings, building foundation consists of about 218 timber piles with reinforced concrete caps or under thickened slab and tie-beams. Diameters and depths of timber piles are unknown. As-built drawings are not available so accurate information and details about the piles foundation are unknown. Building B: 10388 City Parkway, Surrey, British Columbia (former HSBC Bank, Currently, partially operated by Safeway pharmacy). Single-story commercial building with interlocking brick sidewalks on all four sides of the building. Concrete pad for BC Hydro transformer is located on the south side of the building. The building is steel-framed structure with metal decking, open web joists, beams and columns. Exterior walls generally consist of brick masonry with exterior decorative metal paneling.
