Asphalt overlay and necessary repairs to Scott County Highways 261 and 227. SPECIFICATIONS / SCOPE OF WORK The County is requesting sealed bids from qualified companies to furnish all labor, equipment, materials, supervision, traffic control , and incidentals necessary to complete asphalt overlaying and new paving on Scott County Highway 261 and patching on County Highway 227. All pricing shall include the following activities where required to ensure the road improvements are of the highest quality: milling, site and surface preparation, compaction, and cleanup. Section 1 Existing Roadway Overlay County Highway 261 Overlaying will begin inside the city limits of Oran at Main Street and extend north approximately 10,475 feet. Overlaying ends at the intersection of County Highway 261 and 266. Overlaying does not include the intersection. The width of the overlaying must match the width of the existing roadway. Overlay thickness shall be 2 inches. Section 2 - New Paving - County Highway 261 New paving will begin on County Highway 261 following the intersection with County Highway 266 and extend north approximately 7,550 feet to the point that County Highway 261 meets County Highways 264 and 265. This road will contain some sections of prior paving or dust control which must be overlaid. The contractor shall ensure a smooth transition where existing asphalt and new asphalt meet. New asphalt thickness shall be 3 inches. The width of the overlaying must match the width of the existing roadway. Section 3 - Joint Milling and Patching County Highway 227 County Highway 227 from the city limits of Chaffee to the intersection with County Highway 234 west of New Hamburg should be evaluated for repairs. Specific needs include joint milling and leveling areas from prior overlay and patching specific areas as needed.
