Site work and new construction of a power facility in Anchorage, Alaska. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a power facility.

A $413 million grid resiliency project overseen by the Alaska Energy Authority will strengthen the Railbelt Transmission System and support battery energy storage integration on the Kenai Peninsula. The project includes approximately 40 miles of submarine cable, eight miles of overland cable, new converter stations, and infrastructure designed to increase bidirectional power flow between the Kenai Peninsula and Anchorage. Construction is anticipated to begin in January 2029.
