The USMCFP Springfield is seeking a contractor to remove and dispose of biomedical waste, trace chemotherapy waste, pharmaceutical hazardous waste, and pharmaceutical waste material. The contractor shall perform required disposal or thermal destruction of waste at approved incineration facilities in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations. The contractor must provide all approved containers except sharps containers, which will be supplied by USMCFP. Containers must be red, reusable plastic tubs with lids, liners, and tape, not exceeding 24 x 24 x 24 inches, and must be properly sanitized. Removal must be done with approved containers and vehicles operated by licensed personnel. The contractor is responsible for leaving an ample number of tubs and lids for exchange as needed. Only the actual biomedical waste picked up is to be invoiced, with an estimated maximum of 85,000 pounds a year. There will be three required pickups each week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Pickups will occur outside the secured perimeter near the West Gate. Pharmaceutical hazardous waste removal includes picking up Coumadin packaging as needed to keep onsite storage below 2.2 pounds, estimated at three pickups per year, with required manifest control records. Trace chemotherapy waste removal currently consists of less than 12 bags a year, with the contractor providing appropriate yellow bags and containers and pickup as required. Services must comply with all Federal, EPA, State, and Local Laws and Regulations. Wage Determination No.: 2015-5087 applies as applicable.
