Wilbraham Line Painting 2026. Contractor Qualification Highway Division Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. Question Deadline 07/30/2026 All other questions by prospective quoters concerning interpretations of this invitation to quote must be submitted via email not later than five business days prior to the opening of the quote. Questions will be submitted via email to: Tonya Capparello (DPW@wilbraham-ma.gov), Department of Public Works, Town Hall, 240 Springfield Street, Wilbraham, Massachusetts 01095. Installing reflectorized waterborne painted centerlines and road edge lines throughout the Town of Wilbraham, MA. The following specifications shall constitute the scope of work: The work shall consist of furnishing all labor, traffic control measures, equipment, and materials necessary to perform all operations in connection with line painting. Materials furnished by the Contractor shall meet the appropriate requirements specified in the latest edition of the MassDOT's Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges and MUTCD. 1. All paint to be high quality white or yellow reflective. 2. All line painting must be completed by November 1st unless authorized by the Town. 3. All center lines and fog lines will be four (4) inches in width. 4. All painting will be done at night. 5. Contractor's vehicles must be equipped with proper warning lights for safety. 6. Signage and cones to be supplied by Contractor as required. 7. Once line painting commences, Contractor agrees to continue on a nightly basis, weather permitting, until the entire list is completed. 8. The quantities of the work mentioned in the standard quote form are estimated quantities and actual quantities required may be more or less than the estimated amounts. 9. Prior to any pavement painting the Contractor shall contact the Town for the specific location of pavement markings. 10. In general, the work shall consist of furnishing materials and the application of pavement markings in accordance with the latest edition of the Manual on Uniform Traffic control Devices and the Massachusetts Amendment of the Manual on Uniform Traffic control Devised and the Standard Municipal Traffic docs. 11. Materials furnished by the Contractor shall meet the appropriate requirements specified in the latest edition of the MassDOT's Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges. 12. All equipment used for the application of pavement markings shall be of standard commercial manufacturer. All other equipment and devices necessary for the application of the pavement markings and protection thereof and for the protection to the traveling public shall be as usually required for work of this type and shall be furnished by the Contractor. 13. The pavement marking equipment shall be operated at the speed and in accordance with other requirements of the manufacturer. 14. Truck mounted equipment is approved for the application of pavement markings except in such cases where in the Town's judgment that it will be unreasonably delayed and/or the quality of the work performed by the machine is unsatisfactory. 15. No thinners shall be used for pavement marking applications except in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and the direction of the Town. 16. No paint or pavement marking material shall be heated above the temperature marked on the container. 17. Markings shall be applied only in seasonable weather and in accordance with good painting practices. The surface shall be dry and free of sand, grease, oil or other foreign substances prior to the application. The Contractor shall prepare the surface to accept the application as part of this item, with no additional compensation. The Town will make the final determination for all of the foregoing. 18. If for any reason, the material is spilled or tracked on the road, or any markings applied by the Contractor, in the Town's judgment, fail to conform to the specifications, because of a deviation from the desired pattern, the Contractor shall remove such material by a method that is not injurious to the roadway surface and is acceptable to the Town, clean the roadway surface and prepare the surface for a reapplication of markings and reapply the markings as directed without additional compensation for any of the foregoing corrective operations. 19. Markings shall remain protected until sufficiently dry to bear traffic. 20. Any warning signs and traffic control devices, as required, shall be in accordance with the applicable regulations. 21. No work shall be done on roadways on weekends, the day before a holiday or on a holiday except when specifically approved by the Town. 22. Work under this item may be suspended, at the discretion of the Town at any time when, in his/her judgment, traffic and/or other unforeseen issues arise.
