Demolition and replacement of the sidewalk and multi-tier porch on the north facade of the Lohman Building. Set-asides: 10% MBE, 10% WBE. The civil Scope of Work includes removal and replacement of the flagstone pavers and adjacent concrete sidewalks with regraded porch and sidewalk including an ADA compliant exposed aggregate paving and an accessible route sidewalk with curb ramp. The structural Scope of Work includes demolition of the current structure and construction of a new porch incorporating both a new superstructure and foundation system, designed to meet current building code requirements while maintaining the building's historic character. The intent is to match the existing porch in size, configuration, and appearance to the extent feasible under current loading and safety standards. The proposed replacement porch will consist of a two-story timber framing system utilizing concealed hanger connections for a clean, historically sensitive aesthetic while providing modern structural performance. The foundation system will be a shallow spread footing configuration. The architectural Scope of Work includes exterior paint and transparent stain of the wood porch structure and the addition of welded wire mesh panels on the backside of the new railing systems for ADA compliance.
