The Welland Refurbishment Project scope involves renovations and infrastructure upgrades at the Welland Hospital, while it remains fully operational. The key components of the Project scope, subject to further review and approval by Ministry of Health, include the following: o Renovations, generally cosmetic in nature, will be implemented in select areas of the building, over an approximately 85,000 sq.ft floor space. The areas that will be subject to renovations include Levels 4 and 6 on the North Tower, Level 3 on the South Tower as well as the Woolcott Wing. Smaller scale renovations will also be implemented on Level 2 of the North Tower, which will be utilized as decanting/swing space purposes throughout the renovations and, upon completion of the Project, will be returned to hospital's use in alignment with Niagara Health's priorities. The renovations, once completed, are intended to provide a refreshed look on these floors which will enhance patient and staff experience and, subject to change, include but may not be limited to; o replacement of floors, ceiling tiles, wall coverings, and millwork, o removal of wallpaper and repainting in select areas, o replacement of damaged window trims, etc. o replacement of damaged lighting fixtures, and o replacement of plumbing fixtures in the inpatient bathrooms and eyewash stations.
