For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the construction and completion of the exterior surface repairs and repainting of the wood windows, replacement of limestone, brick and tuckpointing selected areas of the four historic facades as necessary to maintain a watertight building envelope. The whole building will be cleaned. The concrete monumental stairs to the East Entrance are to be replaced with concrete stairs. Work will also be done on the copper cornice and moldings below the cornice. New copper downspouts are to be added. The sign located at the northwest corner of South Main Street and Saint Lawrence Avenue is to have the brick base replaced with a limestone base and proper flashing. All work to be completed using The Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation. No bid will be considered unless accompanied by a certified check equal to 10 percent of the bid or a bid bond in equal amount, payable to the City as guaranty that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and performance bond within ten days from the date the lowest responsible bidder's bid is accepted. In case the bidder fails to execute such contract and performance bond within the time set by the City, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages.
