Site work and paving for a road / highway in Sumiton, Alabama. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
Contract A scope of work includes 1,188 LF of 8" gravity sewer, 8 manholes , 11 service tees and laterals, 11 household connections , 645 LF 4" household service line, 114 LF 15" storm pipe, 142 LF 24" storm pipe , 6 end treatments, and 177 LF ditching. Contract B scope of work includes 3,895 SY milling, 565 tons bituminous wearing surface, and 15 tons bituminous leveling course . A certified check or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety company in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount Bid , made payable to the City of Sumiton must be submitted with each bid. All Bidders must be a properly licensed Alabama General Contractor, including proper classification for work . The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids or to waive any informalities in the Bidding. Question Deadline 08/20/2026 Every request for such interpretation should be in writing (RFI) addressed to Nelson Engineering Associates, Inc at PO Box 1053 Gardendale, AL 35071 or nelsoneng@bellsouth.net, and to be given consideration must be received at least five (5) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids.
