Construction of two new lower Tamiami aquifer production wells including well pads, access drives, stormwater management, wellheads, above ground piping, electrical service, panels, grounding, and submersible pumps with associated instrumentation. The proposed project is located on 16th Ave NE on an existing well site owned by the City of Naples, west of the Faka Union Canal The existing Well No. 418 and, structure that are located in the right-of-way will be removed/abandoned, the ROW swale remediated, and the well grouted. Additionally, the portion of the existing 10in DIP raw water main leaving the existing Well shall be grouted and abandoned. The electrical connection to the existing Well will be removed from service. The CONTRACTOR will be responsible for coordination with the utilities department for any shutdown required.The well pump shall be a Goulds 9CNLC 2 stage pump driven by a 60hp Franklin Motor, both of which are detailed in the plans. The drop pipe connected to the wellhead flange shall be 6in 150lb stainless steel pipe. A project site map showing the proposed new well location is included as Figure 1. The CONTRACTOR shall provide and install 16-inch external diameter SDR 17 PVC well casing cement grouted in place to a depth of approximately 75 feet below land surface (BLS) and shall drill out the open hole via the direct-air method to a total depth of approximately 140 feet BLS. The proposed construction details of the new well are provided as Figure 2 and also displayed on page 10 of the Civil Plans. Geophysical logging surveys shall be performed at various stages of construction and shall include static and dynamic geophysical logs and final video surveys upon completion of the wells. Treatment of each well with 1,000 gallons of development and pumping during which testing for sand content and turbidity shall be conducted. Step-drawdown tests of each well shall be conducted using a submersible test pump and shall have a duration of 5 hours at pumping rates up to 1,000 gallons per minute. Testing shall include sampling for Primary and Secondary drinking water standards. 32% hydrochloric acid will be performed prior to final well development. Well development shall be performed for up to 32 hours by a combination of air. JOB NO.: 25242
