Description

Renovation of a data center facility in Crookston, Minnesota. Completed plans call for the renovation of a data center facility.

The University of Minnesota Crookston is making improvements to its data center to update electrical service and battery backup systems. It is seeking a contractor to construct the improvements that include installation of owner supplied Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) to replace existing units that are reaching end of life. The new UPS will be in a new location necessitating the installation of new power feeders to the data center, automatic transfer switch, new cooling for the UPS room, and reconfiguration of electrical circuits. The Work is described in more detail in the included drawings and should be bid as documented. The data center must remain online throughout the construction of the improvements. The owner will provide temporary generators for the changeover in power. Phasing of the Work to limit time on generator power is described in greater detail in the Construction Documents. The final phasing plan for the Work will be made in conjunction with the owner, engineer and contractor prior to starting the Work.
