The City of North Chicago is seeking a master developer or team for the 34-acre Sheridan Crossing”redevelopment site. This long-vacant, highly visible property is located at the northwest corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Sheridan Road, directly adjacent to Naval Station Great Lakes, the Navys only boot camp in the nation. Situated within the Sheridan Crossing Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District, the site represents one of North Chicagos most strategic redevelopment opportunities. The City envisions a vibrant, mixed-use destination that may include hospitality, retail services, restaurants, entertainment, and potentially residential uses which can capitalize on the sites proximity to large employers and institutions including Rosalind Franklin University, AbbVie, and the Cpt. James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center. The City will employ a two-step selection process, beginning with this RFQ, followed by a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued to shortlisted development teams.
