Site work for a water / sewer project in Long Beach, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work consists of the abandonment of approximately 2,050 linear feet of existing 24-inch steel cylinder concrete (SCC) transmission main located within the Rancho Los Alamitos area. Abandonment shall include dewatering the interior of the pipe, placing controlled low-strength material (slurry) fill at locations to be determined, and sealing all open ends with watertight caps or blind flanges as shown on the plans . Existing valve lids shall be removed and salvaged as directed by the Engineer and in accordance with WDS-127. All connections to asbestos cement pipe (ACP) shall be abandoned in place without disturbance to the ACP. All excavated areas shall be backfilled , compacted and restored to pre-construction conditions, with pavement restoration meeting City standards. Bonds: Bid Bond required (unspecified amount). If any prospective Bidder is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the plans, specifications, or other Contract Documents, or finds discrepancies in, or omissions from the Plans and Specifications or other Contract Documents, the Bidder may submit to LBUD a written request for an interpretation or correction.
