Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Lillooet, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

The District of Lillooet (The District) is seeking proposals from qualified proponents in response to this request for proposal ("RFP"). The RFP is for the design, supply, and installation of a permanent shade structure over the playground area located at the Lillooet and District Recreation Centre (930 Main St. Lillooet BC). The District is committed to providing safe, accessible, and enjoyable recreational spaces for residents and visitors of all ages. This project aims to enhance user comfort, increase protection from ultraviolet (UV) exposure, and improve the overall functionality of the playground during periods of high sun exposure. The District seeks a qualified proponent to submit their proposal to provide all labour, supervision, equipment, engineering, materials, transportation, permits, and incidentals necessary for the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of permanent shade structures over the existing playground at the Lillooet Recreation Centre. The intent of the project is to increase user comfort, improve UV protection, reduce heat exposure, and extend the usability of the playground during periods of high temperatures while maintaining full accessibility and safety standards. a) Conduct a site visit and field review of the playground area. b) Verify all site dimensions, grades, elevations, and existing conditions. c) Identify underground utilities and coordinate utility locates as required. d) Evaluate site-specific environmental and climatic considerations including wind exposure, snow loading, sun orientation, and drainage patterns. e) Confirm that proposed shade structures will not negatively impact playground operations, accessibility, visibility, maintenance activities, or emergency access. f) Confirm whether the proposed shade structure can be installed within the existing playground footprint without modifications. If alterations are required, clearly identify all proposed changes to the playground configuration, equipment layout, safety surfacing, drainage, landscaping, utilities, or other site features. The Proponent shall describe the extent of the required work, provide the rationale for each modification, and identify whether all associated costs have been included in the proposal. Question Deadline 08/25/2026 Questions should be submitted to Mike Boisvert at recmanager@lillooet.ca. Telephone questions will not be accepted.
