Dahlgren Weigh Station Septic Repairs The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to inspect and repair deficiencies within the existing septic system located at the Dahlgren Weigh Station, 3930 James Madison Parkway, King George VA 22485. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, permits (if required), and incidentals necessary to restore the existing septic system to proper operating condition. The contractor shall be responsible for verifying field conditions prior to submitting a bid. The work must include, but is not limited to: Inspection and evaluation of the existing septic system. Excavation as necessary to access system components. Repair or rehabilitation of existing septic system components as required. Repair or replacement of damaged piping, fittings, access points, or related components as necessary. Measures necessary to prevent system backflow or other operational deficiencies. Installation of system monitoring or warning devices to alert staff of high liquid volumes within systems. Backfilling, grading, and restoration of disturbed areas. a. Warranties 1. Vendor shall provide a one-year labor warranty on equipment from the date of installation. 2. Manufacturer's parts warranty shall be included. Minimum of five (5) year's parts warranty shall be included on all parts and components of any installed system. b. Compliance 1. All work shall comply with applicable Virginia Department of Health regulations, local, state, and federal standards. 2. Upon completion, the septic system shall be fully operational and free of leaks or operational deficiencies. c. Site Clean-Up 1. Contractor shall dispose of all removed equipment off site. 2. The contractor shall remove all debris generated during the project and leave the site in clean condition d. Work Hours Work shall be performed during Monday through Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM. Any work outside these hours shall be coordinated in advance with the Project Manager. DMV reserves the right to conduct any test it may deem advisable and to make all evaluations. DMV also reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, to waive informalities and to delete items prior to making the award, whenever it is deemed in the sole opinion of DMV to be in its best interest.
