Broward County has filed a proposal to redevelop approximately 154 acres surrounding the Florida Panthers' arena in Sunrise, Florida into a large-scale mixed-use entertainment district. The project concept includes approximately 1,400 apartments, 600 hotel rooms, 1.62 million square feet of office and education space, and 300,000 square feet of commercial space, replacing portions of existing surface parking. Discussions remain in the early stages with Broward County, the City of Sunrise, and the Florida Panthers organization, with a Sunrise City Commission review scheduled.
