Site work and renovation of a water / sewer project in College Station, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

Question Deadline 08/25/2026 at 2:00 PM CT REFER INQUIRIES TO: Jim Nelms Buyer III Texas A&M University Procurement Services email: janelms@exchange.tamu.edu The narrative below briefly discusses upgrades to be completed in this project by system. Project plans and specifications define the work to be completed in detail. Structure The existing Boiler Room does not meet the code requirements for NFPA 820 standards which require an air gap between anaerobic digester and boiler room and forced air ventilation. Therefore, the existing boiler room needs to be replaced. A new boiler building will be constructed southwest of the Digester Control Building with sufficient space to house two boiler/heat exchanger units. Forced air ventilation at 6 air changes per hour will be provided. The new building will be rated as unclassified space. To meet code egress requirements, a secondary egress door to the Digester Equipment Room on the opposite side of the existing entrance will be added. This will bring the building up to current code for egress . A roof equipment access ladder will be added to the exterior of the building. In addition, all existing doors in the Digester Equipment Room and Boiler Room will be replaced. A new metal stairway and platform will be added at the new secondary egress. Plumbing and Process A new sludge boiler/heat exchanger unit will be installed in the new boiler room. The biogas flare collection system and flare will be replaced with equivalent systems. A new sediment drip trap, lower pressure check valve, gas meter, and triple manometer will be located at a new vault south of the digester control building. The new vault size will be 24 ft long by 12 ft wide and 10 ft deep. The new flame trap assembly for the gas feed to the boiler will be located at the boiler/heat exchanger room. The new waste gas burner and associated pressure relief and flame trap assembly will be located at its existing location. The sludge boiler/heat exchanger system consists of a firetube type boiler and a water bath type heat exchanger, integrally constructed in a common steel pressure vessel but separated by a steel baffle, arranged to heat recirculated sludge from the digester plus raw sludge being fed to the digester. A hot water recirculating pump will draw hot water directly from the boiler side of the unit and discharge it over the sludge heating tubes in the heat exchanger side of the unit. Cooled water will return to the boiler side of the unit through ports in the bottom of the separation baffle. The sludge heater/heat exchanger equipment includes a boiler, burner, fuel piping, induced draft fan system, water-cooled return, heat exchanger, hot water bath recirculation pump, control panel, and expansion tank. Technology A new Low Explosive Limit (LEL) gas monitor will be installed in the digester building, and will provide local LEL readout, alarm lights/ horns for warning and critical LEL levels, in addition to relay outputs to the Balance of Plant (BOP) PLC to provide remote alarming on SCADA. Electrical Electrical upgrades will include: Demo MDC, 480V, 3P, 4W. 1600A Main o Demo MCC- 1 , 480V, 3P, 4W, 800A Main o Demo MCC-1A, 480V, 3P, 4W, 600A Main o Demo MCC-2, 480V, 3P, 4W, 600A Main Demo 1000 kVa Pad Mounted Transformer o New MDC, 480V, 3P, 4W. 3,000A MLO New MCC- 1, 480V, 3P, 4W, 1200A Main New MCC-1A, 480V, 3P, 4W, 800A Main New MCC-2, 480V, 3P, 4W, 1,200A Main New 1,500 kVa Pad Mounted Transformer New PP- 1 480V, 3P, 4W, 225A Main Associated conduit, cable, and cable terminations
