Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Big Rapids, Michigan. Design plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; playground / park / athletic field; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The City of Big Rapids has received a Michigan Department of Natural Resources Trust Fund grant to develop a ¾-mile universally accessible non-motorized waterfront trail within the Clay Cliffs Natural Area along Mitchell Creek. The project includes construction of two bridges, replacement of an existing bridge, installation of accessible overlooks with benches, interpretive and educational signage, and improvements supporting hiking, biking, fishing, and other recreational uses. The total project cost is estimated at $559,200, with design by Todd Richter of Fleis & VandenBrink Engineering and bidding anticipated during the winter prior to construction
