Site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Perry, New York. Completed plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project.
Implementation of a stormwater management and runoff filtration system including connecting and repairing existing drainage inlets and constructing a retention basin/filtrating system. Site conditions and placement of the Village of Perry Public Beach have created consistent erosion issues, requiring continual repair of trails, existing stormwater retention systems, and the beach itself. Wyoming County Soil and Water Conservation District (WCSWCD) is partnering with the Village of Perry to address the ecological and economic considerations when implementing this project. The goal is to reduce the velocity of stormwater reaching the lake by connecting and repairing existing drainage inlets to a constructed retention basin in the form of a filtrating system to catch and slowly disseminate excess rainwater. The need for this spillway results from an inadequate retention basin, and the increased prevalence of extreme weather events. Additionally, drainage along the roadway will further reduce stormwater velocity as well as sedimentation into the lake from continually eroding walking trails. Implementation of these structures aims to reduce frequency of repairs by the Village of Perry Highway Department following rain events and increase lake water quality by decreasing stormwater runoff into the lake. The selected consultant shall provide all labor, materials, technical expertise, and coordination necessary to deliver a fully compliant and implementation ready project. All work shall be performed in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, and in a manner consistent with Wyoming County SWCD's goals of advancing the site to an ideal state, ready for community use and to withstand extreme weather events *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
